I graduated from Wood River Rural Schools when it was called Wood River Junior Senior High School back in 1981. My graduation class was one of the largest classes to graduate from Wood River with 79 seniors. My class listened to Bruce Springsteen, Chicago & Madonna and gasoline was $1.19 gallon. After high school I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Business Administration-Finance. I returned to Wood River after 10 years of living in Lincoln.
Present day, my family & I live on a farm and raise corn, soybeans, and seed corn. My husband, John is from Mason City, NE and we have been married for 28 years. We have 4 daughters: Megan (23) graduated UNL in December, Amber (21) & Taylor (18) attended UNL, and Johnna (13) is a 7th grader. When I’m not on the farm, I involved with my church (United Methodist), Wood River Booster Club, Nebraska LEAD (Leadership, Education, Agricultural Development), Wood River School Board, and Wood River Vision 20/20.
My favorite past time is water/snow skiing, reading books, photography and attending Wood River Rural Schools activities like Marching Band parades, sporting events, One Act Plays, and anything involving Wood River Rural Schools.
