I am originally from Pierce, NE, but now I call Grand Island my home. I graduated from Central Community College in Columbus followed by Wayne State College. I just got married February 28th to Dan Leiser. He is from Grand Island and farms with his family. Dan is a Northwest High School graduate along with a UNL graduate. We have 2 dogs also known as our kids...Lily and Bandit.
My family:
My family is HUGE to say the least. I come from a blended family so total I have seven sisters and three brothers. I have 17 nieces and nephews. Like I said HUGE!
What I teach:
I have taught at Wood River for four years now. I teach 5th grade Reading and Social Studies. Never are two days the same in our classroom. It is always a great day!
What I am involved in:
I help with junior high volleyball and freshman girls basketball. I am the WRREA president this year. I am involved in our church by being a wedding coordinator. In the summertime, I enjoy working at Indianhead Golf Club in Grand Island.
Why I chose to teach:
I decided to teach when I was a junior/senior in high school. Our school let us go to the elementary to work in a classroom as an aid. I found my love of teaching by helping those kids and couldn't wait to start my journey on having my own classroom and helping my own students.
