Out of school I enjoy anything involving Husker college teams or Minnesota Professional Teams. I have been blessed with an incredible family that includes my wife Bobbi and daughters Haley, Abigail and Faith. I also have been blessed with teaching in the community that "raised" me and look forward to putting in several more years serving the community.
I was born In Huron, South Dakota and lived in Highmore, South Dakota until I was 7. We then lived in Staunton, Virginia for about 6 months until we moved to Wood River the same year. I spent my informative years in the Wood River educational system and I participated in many activities while at "Good Ole Wood River High". I participated in football, basketball and track and found time to be involved in Band, Choir, Swing Choir, National Honor Society, Student Council as well as participating in the all school play "Harvey" as well as the all school musical "Funky Winkerbean's Homecoming". I graduated from high school in 1988 and attended UNK graduating in 1993. A late summer opening in the history department at Wood River in 1993, led me home and I have been enjoying teaching here ever since. I have taught High School Social Studies, High School Math, Weight training and I currently serve as the Middle School Social Studies teacher. I have a passion for history as well as a passion for teaching middle schoolers. Currently I am working towards a masters degree in History from UNK. I have been involved coaching basketball during my entire tenure, some years as an assistant boys coach and other years as the head girls coach. I have also spent all but one of my years as an assistant to Peg Heise in the volleyball program.
