My wife, Brenda, and I enjoy a great marriage that will be going on 31 years in June. She works as an administrative assistant in the guidance office at Northwest High Schools in Grand Island. We have one son, Jason, who will be 27 in May. He is finishing up his graduate studies in media management at the New School in New York. He will graduate in May and hopes to stay in New York and work in the media industry. His mom and I just want him to do something he loves that will pay the bills (and get his student loans paid off!).
I have the title of Activities Director at Wood River Rural Schools. I am in charge of all the athletic and fine arts activities for middle school and high school. I also run the alternative education/credit recovery program for high school students. Some of my other duties include being responsible for attendance for middle and high school students, lunch supervision, and obtaining substitute teachers when needed. Next year I will have some additional responsibilities as well.
One of those responsibilities will be to coordinate some of the elementary youth program athletic activities. It will be my goal to get the youth programs and teams that we have here under one umbrella and working in conjunction with our high school coaching staffs so that kids are taught the fundamentals of the sport in the way our coaches want them taught. This way our kids will enter middle school and high school with a better understanding of the fundamentals of the game. I will reaching out to parents who work with those teams in the future to get them on board and so that we are all on the same page!
