What's Happening in Middle School Prime Time

First, we devote Mondays to discussing grades and giving individuals ideas of how to improve.  It is a terrific way to keep all students up to date with their grades and make them aware of items such as missing assignments, a pattern of low grades on the same type of assignment, test, or quiz, and what could help them improve to strive for their goals.  Not to mention, being able to commend them on a job well done in classes that are going extremely well and congratulating those who make the honor roll.  In addition, we have an assembly each quarter to recognize honor roll students.

Another special day is Thursday.  We devote it  to technology and making students aware of safety concerns as well as new apps that are available.  It is a great way to allow students to watch videos and  demonstrate what could happen if we don’t use  safe practices online.  There are great questions and discussions after the videos.

The rest of February was spent playing “Minute to Win It” games.  Each prime time rotated to the eight prime time teachers and participated in a different game in each room. There was excitement in the air as students attempted to achieve the goal in a minute or less.  Shouts were heard as they encouraged each other on to beat the time.

Please mark your calendar and plan on attending Student Led conferences March 21 from 5-7.   Eighth graders will also need to attend the meeting at 7 with Ms. Roberts to learn more about their high school schedules and choices.  March prime time will be used in preparation of the conferences.
