The kindergarteners finished up their year with a full day field trip to Kearney. We went to the college planetarium and to the Children's Museum. We had a great time learning about the stars and doing some creative play. It was a full day of fun and learning. Oh, what a year we've had!
The entire Middle/High School took part in the 4th annual Community Day on May 6th. It was not the best day weather wise but students and staff braved the conditions to make a difference in our community. Trash pick up, raking, weed pulling, paint scraping, mulching, fence clean-up, school cleaning, and window washing were a few of the jobs students and teachers completed in the morning.
Karen Rathke, director of the Heartland United Way, spoke to students about serving their community before they headed out to just that. She said that each student can can have a tremendous impact on their community. She also mentioned that there is a tremendous need in our region for people to step up and serve and Live United!

During the afternoon portion of the day students listened to two general session speakers and had two breakout sessions.
