In honor of Veteran's Day, the fifth grade class prepared some facts and poems to read at the Veteran's Day program. Each student also colored part of a box that they stacked together to create an American flag. They worked very hard on this and were excited to share with all the veterans that came to our program. Good job 5th graders!

On September 23, both fifth-grade classes had the opportunity to attend a program organized by the UNL extension office called "Animals Inside and Out". The day-long program was held in the Nebraska building at the fairgrounds in Grand Island. Throughout the day, the students rotated through 9 different stations. Each station covered a different aspect of livestock in Nebraska. The students learned about Animal Feed and Feeding, Livestock Management, Animal By-Products, Animal Skeletal Systems, Animal Reproductive Systems, Animal Muscular Systems, and Careers in Agriculture. It was a wonderful learning opportunity and the kids really enjoyed their day! |
