| Hi there! My name is Ryan Anthony Woitalewicz and I’m a senior at Wood River High School. I am the son of Melissa and (the late) Kenny Woitalewicz. My mother will always be someone I admire to be. She has performed the role of both my parents ever since the age of four years old, and she never seems to amaze me with the accomplishments that she can do. I also have two siblings and they include Matt, who is a 2012 graduate from Wood River High School. He holds a career as a firefighter in Lincoln, Nebraska. He has always been my go-to when things are rough, and without him, I wouldn't be the person I am today. And Logan, who is a fifth grader at the elementary, keeps me on my feet. He is a ball of fire and can light up any room with his sense of humor. There's another special person in my life, Chad, he came into my family when I was only six years old. He has supported me and all my endeavors and I appreciate everything he's done for me. I enjoy spending as much time as I can with my friends and family. I will most definitely miss the atmosphere of Wood River and interacting with my peers daily, however, I am ready for this next chapter in my life! After high school, I plan on attending Southeast Community College in Lincoln. I will begin a profession by studying Business Administration. Upon completion of the required coursework, I look forward to furthering my education even higher to a Bachelor’s degree. Fine Arts I have been apart of the Fine Arts all four years of high school. During my sophomore year, we performed the musical, Annie, and I was held responsible for the lights and sound of the production. I also had a small part in the production as well. Another musical I was apart of was in April of 2016. I decided to step outside my comfort zone and audition for the lead role of Captain Georg von Trapp in The Sound of Music. It was definitely a learning experience and it also was a great show for all. Just recently, I was involved in the spring play and portrayed the lead role of Thesus in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. I was very excited to watch it come together as it was my last performance of my high school career. A few of my favorite productions that I was involved in:

My name is Lizzy Gannon, and I am a senior at Wood River. I was involved in volleyball all four years of high school. I was also involved in various music organizations, such as choir and show choir. I also participated and had leads in two school musicals: Annie and The Sound of Music. I auditioned for UNK Honor Choir which consists of the Festival Choir, the Women's Choir, and the Honor Choir. I was fortunate enough to be selected for the Honor Choir and hope to be selected again this year. I am involved in many organizations such as FBLA, Spanish Club, Letter Club, Student Council, and I am a freshman 7 leader. I am also president of Spanish Club and Letter Club. I am also very focused on my academics, and I have made the honor roll every semester. For college, I plan to attend a four year university in Nebraska and pursue a career in elementary education. Brian Leisher, MS/HS MusicHello Wood River! The past few months of settling into our home in Wood River and getting started with the music department at the school have been exciting and refreshing! My wife, Myriah, and my son, Eli, and I have all been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of the community and school.
After spending the past eight years teaching at Bruning-Davenport USD, and the two years at Heartland Community Schools in Henderson, I am very excited about what lies ahead for the music department here at WRRSD. I believe through hard work and lots of good laughs we will be able to build our music program substantially over the coming years. As a farm boy growing up in rural Oklahoma (Okeene, OK), I enjoyed listening to my family make music and began playing the trombone in 5th grade. Through all-state band participation and various other honor groups, I knew my passion was in music education--this led me to Sterling College in Sterling, KS, where I received by bachelor's degree in 2005. Currently I am finishing a master's degree from Concordia University in Seward. Over the past several years, I have been fortunate to work with wonderful people and mentors. This fall I will present for the third time at the Nebraska Music Educators Association annual In-Service Workshop, and will also be representing Nebraska music educators as a presenter at the 2015 National Association for Music Education National Conference in Nashville, TN, at the end of October. I believe that music is a vital part of each student's education and am very honored to be working in a school that has and continues to show its support of arts education!
