Period 4 is Sophomore Advisory. The Sophomore use this time to get extra help on their assignments. Also during this time we have THINK Thursday Curriculum. This curriculum teaches Digital Citizenship. Period 5 is Personal Leadership, a required class for the Seniors. In this class we use the Dave Ramsey Curriculum "Foundations In Personal Finance. This class is used to provide a starting point on how to manage their finances as the become independent from their parents. Period 6 is Accounting I. We are introducing the Accounting Cycle of a sole proprietorship. Students are studying the Accounting Equation and how daily transactions affect the Accounting Equation. Period 7 we offer 7th Grade Computer Applications. We are reviewing the Alpha and numeric keys and then we will begin processing documents. Period 9 is Fitness Class. The students just finished their Max Out Sheets. Each student has their own work out for their specific sport or recreational lifting. |
The Business Education Department is offering the following classes this year: Periods 1 and 8 Information Technology I, II and Period 2 an Independent Study Class of Information Technology I. The first unit is Introduction to Computers and How to Purchase a Computer. The students researched three different computers that they would like to purchase and then pick the one that best fits their needs. The students then had to present their results. We purchased new textbooks and updated the software to Microsoft Office 365/2016 it is a web based software and can be use on several devices. During Period 3 we are offering Personal Finance. We are working on the our Careers unit, Students are researching three careers of interest and are filling out self assessment exercises to get to know themselves. We will then create a Resume, Letter of Application, fill out an Employment Application, and will go through a Mock Interview.

Did you pass up your opportunity to purchase your Wood River High School Yearbook or misplace it over the years? This may be your chance to get a copy! The yearbook staff has gathered all of the extra yearbooks from past years from all of the corners of the school's
storage spaces to give alumni a chance to purchase a wonderful collection of their high school memories. Yearbooks from 1983 to 2013 are available in the high school office for only $10.00. To find more information about the editions and number of copies available, please refer to the gallery of pictures above. The 2015-2016 edition of the Eagle yearbook is arriving soon.
The distribution party will take place Friday, August 19th during advisory period. Students in grades 7-12 who purchased a yearbook are eligible to attend. 2016 graduates can pick up their yearbooks in the office starting on the 19th. Note: Preordered yearbooks will only be released to the student who purchased it, a parent/guardian, or a sibling. DIDN'T PREORDER? - There are only around 15 extra yearbooks left to purchase. If you would like to purchase one, sales for those remaining books begin the 19th after school for $50 in Mrs. Adelman's room. No holds. |
