6th grade has been extremely busy already for the start of the 2015-2016 school year!! Mr. Kuecker, Mr. Smith and Mrs. Peters have welcomed 43 new middle schoolers and everyone is adjusting to their new routine and transitioning from elementary school well!!! Students have been learning order of operations in math, scientific method in science, Ancient History in Social Studies and drawing their own cave paintings. In reading, each class is busy reading a novel, either Naya Nuki or Al Capone Does My Shirts. Mrs. Peters' English classes have all written a 5-paragraph essay on their own personal goals and each traced their own footprint aided with adding their own colorful details...one step at a time they can start using what they learn in 6th grade and lead them onto the road of success!! We are anxiously awaiting iPads that the students will be receiving and will be MAPS testing in the upcoming weeks. We also hope to be visiting Rowe Sanctuary this month. It's shaping up to be a great year in 6th grade!!
