Winterblahs! That is what the Spirit Squad calls the week leading up to the Winter Ball dance. January gets to be long, but it is anything, but blah. Students, especially in activities, are crazy busy. The 8th graders and Juniors are preparing for the state writing exam to take place the first week in February. As a school, we have traditionally done OUTSTANDING on the Statewide writing exam. We have also done superb on the Nebraska State Accountability Assessments in Math, Reading and Science as well. Please take a look at how the Middle/High School did last year, compared to the rest of the state. Many different activities and events take place at the middle/high school everyday. reVISION is a process that we recently were awarded a grant to participate in. The process involves analyzing our Career Tech curriculum and comparing it to regional, state, and national employment trends. The process is facilitated by the Nebraska Department of Education. The main ideas is to prepare students for High Skill, High Wage and High Demand jobs. On February11th from 2pm to 4pm we will be hosting a collaborative meeting with regional employers, teachers, school board members and parents to gain insight on possible program options. If you have questions about reVISION, or any other Middle/High School program, please contact Mr. Zessin.
